Here are some simple tricks to accelerate
your presense in the search engines.
- Have a simple design. Different pages on your website should
be accessible easily by a visitor.

Make sure that all your pages are reachable by a maximum of
3 clicks by visitor from home page.

Do not redirect your home page to some other page on loading.

Throwing some light on the subject you have made your website helps. Like if you are getting a website developed for a real estate agent, having a page of information like "how to evaluate a property", "how to build a good home" etc. helps.
- Never create doorway spam pages. These are the keyword stuffed pages that are just stuffed with few keywords many a times which are of no use to a visitor. Few SEOs create these pages just to attract search engines.

Have a section which will make a visitor come again and again to your website. Like a having forum where in you or an expert
participate to give answers to construction related problems
or have a section which brings new technologies every week
or so on.
